Teaching is fully differentiated and suitable for different ages with different project outcomes and expectations for each year group. This means everyone can work together benefiting and learning from each other’s strengths but still be stretched and challenged to reach their individual potential.
Students will work on creative projects giving them insights into the history of art and important modern and contemporary artists that will give context to the work they create.
Drawing and observation
Drawing skills are fundamental to developing artistically and all projects will give our young artists the chance to develop their observational and drawing skills.
Students will learn a wide range of art techniques and use a wide range of materials with lots of demonstrations and 1:1 tuition to ensure they learn how to develop their techniques correctly.
Developing a sketchbook alongside final art works is important and students will be encouraged to undertake research and develop creative ideas using individual initiative to showcase their creative ideas – sketchbook techniques will be taught teaching them how sketchbooks are the creative engine that drive artistic ideas forward.
