| The course offers you a tempting amount of freedom to create your own designs inspired by textiles in their widest sense. The course will start with looking at examples of inspirational contemporary textile artist's work to give you ideas, inspiration and a starting point. This will lead into sketching your ideas before launching into making them a reality. Techniques you might be inspired to explore include applique, embroidery, free machine embroidery, hand stitching, collage, wire-work and construction. As you can tell by now this is not your average traditional cross stitch course! |
| Your textile constructions can be made into greetings cards, decorative gift boxes, wall hangings or framed pictures - the choice is yours . I have the equipment and a selection of fabrics and scrap material to entice you and get you started. You can source additional items to bring into class during the course to add to your work.. |
| Some experience of design, machine sewing and hand stitching will be useful but is not essential. Beginners are made especially welcome and my time spent with you will ensure you do not get 'stuck' and are able to make the best use of your time with me. |
