Begin to draw + paint: Oct 2018
Fantastic environment with supportive tutor – no judgement or negative criticism.”
I love teaching the Begin to draw + paint courses. Students always arrive full of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn – it’s a privilege to be able to steer them in the right direction. Michael said he would “Recommend without hesitation. I learnt to have the confidence to carry on working in pencil, charcoal and pastel in the future. Attentive and sympathetic tutoring throughout.” Read further to find out what the other students thought about the weekend course.
“Definitely book – well worth it. It’s life changing. [My highlight was]being given the knowledge on how to start drawing.”
“An excellent introduction to the basics of drawing and painting. An excellent teacher, fantastic space, great materials and lovely chocolate biscuits. [My highlights were] getting a basic grounding in the theory, playing with the materials and meeting Brian and the other course participants.”
“Fun weekend of learning with others about rudiments of drawing and painting. Very comprehensive basic learning.”
“A fantastic way to spend a weekend and feed my creative needs after working in an office all week. [I learnt] drawing and painting techniques most of which I thought I understood, but didn’t! I have learnt a lot in a short space of time – will come again in the future.”
“Great – it’s a really good starter into lots of different techniques and materials so you can find out what you like. I really enjoyed the variety of things we learned and tried and how small the course is, meaning you get individual tips.”
“Something fun, interesting to do over a weekend that will give you a new perspective on art.”
“Excellent – enjoyable and informative with a brilliant atmosphere. Brian has made this a fun and illuminating weekend – student group was small and friendly and ideal for learning.
I want to thank you for a brilliant weekend; I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun, and learnt so much. you’ve reminded me of how exciting it is to attempt to ‘do’ rather than just admire art. It’s 4o years since I touched a pencil, so this was inspirational and I will certainly be back for another course as soon as I can, as I’m sure many of the others will.”
“Excellent. A positive content rich learning experience. very good for beginners. Lots of basic skills. Enjoyable. It’s a genuine learning experience in a supportive atmosphere. It will increase my creative options.”
