I am a mixed-media artist and tutor based at AWOL Studios in Manchester.

My work is inspired by my sensory responses to the people, objects, and places I encounter. I use a combination of abstract, expressive, and figurative visual languages to create mixed-media artworks on paper. I choose my materials and techniques for their individual personalities with their ability to express the connections I have with the people, objects and places in my life.

Art beginnings

I’ve been drawing since childhood, occasionally painting but always coming back to drawing. Art school was a turning point—it allowed me to fully immerse myself in making art. Life drawing had a big impact, especially the deep focus and observation it required. That intense way of looking has stayed with me and is central to all the art I create.

Making art

No matter what materials I use, I always return to drawing. I think as a ‘drawer’ does, rather than a ‘painter’.
I create mixed-media drawings that express my experience of the places, people, and objects around me. Making art helps me find clarity in constant change. I experiment with materials, using line, colour, shape, and texture to explore connections and rhythm that reflect how I experience my world.

Subject matter

Whether I’m making abstract art, expressive still life, or figurative drawings, deep observation and experience are at the heart of my process. I develop my drawings by adding and removing marks, layering materials, and scraping back to create a rich, textured surface—a visual conversation that resonates with how I experience my world.

Framing
Framing is not included in the quoted price for the artwork.
Bespoke framing option: this is available at additional cost.
Select this option at time of purchase (see drop down menu)
Only available if you arrange collection from my Ancoats studio
DIY Framing: it should be easy to frame the artwork yourself as all artwork is made to standard sizes to fit frames you can purchase in most shops or online.
Framing guidance: All artworks will require a window mount to ensure the surface of the artwork is not in contact with the glazing.
Tape the artwork to the top of the reverse side of the window mount only
This should be inserted behind a glazed (glass or acrylic) picture frame.
Internal window mount size is quoted as the ‘image size’ within the product description
Display advice: Keep out of direct sunlight and ensure dry conditions

UK Customers
Shipping costs are quoted separately of the artwork cost at time of purchase (see drop-down menu)
The artwork will be mailed to you packed either flat or rolled in a tube.
Purchases will be dispatched within 5-10 working days once full payment has been received.
Be aware that different couriers work to different delivery windows so check with me if you have a deadline date you would like to receive the artwork by.
Artwork will be sent by Royal Mail 1st Class Tracked for smaller artworks, or Royal Mail Parcelforce for larger artworks
EU and International
Unfortunately, I only sell to customers in the UK
Returns policy

Damaged artwork?
In the unlikely event your artwork arrives damaged, please email me within 24 hours to let me know.
Take photos and save all the packaging.
I will work closely with you to resolve the issue with the shipping agent
Change of mind?
I want you to be as happy with the artwork as I am, so I do accept refunds or exchanges if notified within 7 days of receipt of the artwork.
Refunds
I will issue you a refund, less 3rd party fees that I am unable to claim back such as payment processing fees and shipping fees, promptly after receiving the artwork in return.
The artwork must be returned to me in the same original saleable condition in the original packaging
The buyer will need to pay for return shipping and insurance costs.
Exchanges
If you decide you would prefer a different artwork I have to offer, I will be happy to make an exchange.

Shipping Returns
I will email you my Manchester address once we have agreed the artwork is to be returned.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.
We suggest you use a trackable shipping service or purchase shipping insurance, as the ‘proof of postage’ receipt you receive from your courier does not guarantee or prove we have received the artwork
