Drawing still life arrangements in the studio, much like the early Modernist artists Cézanne and Matisse, offers me a space to play, experiment, and explore new material techniques. The process encourages creative discovery and deepens my awareness of how my visual choices influence self-expression and communication.
My use of line, tone, shape, colour, and texture is closely tied to my personal connection with the everyday objects in my studio. The physical qualities of my materials such as paint, pastels, pencils, or charcoal, engage my senses and allows me to move beyond the literal appearance of the objects, transporting me into imagined spaces shaped by intuition and material responses.
