Cityscapes: urban sketching – Sept 2020

“I now want to draw buildings all the time, when previously I avoided them at all costs!”

Heather M

What a wonderful weekend sketching our urban environment on my Cityscapes: urban sketching course!  The weather was extremely kind to us, so in contrast to the summer course, we drew outside on site, for almost the whole weekend and ended with a Sunday afternoon drawing session bathed in warm sunshine. Fab!

“This course was perfect for anyone who feels absolutely clueless when drawing and painting buildings.  The methodology of technical drawing was incredibly well taught, and the feedback when drawing outside was very valuable.  I now want to draw buildings all the time, when previously I avoided them at all costs! Brian is a brilliant teacher.” My course highlight was “sitting by the canal to draw.  Learning all the methodology.”

“Introduction to a variety of helpful techniques to support drawing of urban buildings.”

“A friendly and supportive atmosphere you will feel confident to have a go. I’ve learnt about using the pencil to measure, angles and eye level.” My course highlight was “Sunday afternoon.”
