Moved me on. Made me more bold. Feel confident to plan and use sketchbooks to expand my levels of expertise.”
I’ve been looking forward to teaching this course for a while as I only run the course twice a year. I enjoy revealing new ways for students to work in sketchbooks as students always find it a revelation as to the freedom you can have with a sketchbook. A lovely group of students made the weekend fly by.

“Really relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming, non judgemental, very understanding and accommodating to any needs. I’ve learnt how you can use a sketchbook, ow focusing on tools takes away any pressure for your work to be perfect, how to use emulsion, attach masking tape and paper clips to your sketchbook, how to make an s=insert page, how to make a purpose to your artwork, etc. Brian was extremely accommodating to my needs and how he teaches has helped me to be okay with making mistakes and thinking about art differently. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I wish it was more regular!”
“Definitely worth booking – irrespective of your (perceived) expertise. Just a fabulous weekend of creativity. [I have learned] how to make a sketchbook – obviously! How to use pen an dink to make pics. Techniques to rescue a pic when you’ve made a mistake! Reading and researching topics. Loved pen an dink techniques use of acrylic – feel more confident. Moved me on. Made me more bold. Feel confident to plan and use sketchbooks to expand my levels of expertise.”
“Very enjoyable and learnt such a lot. Very well prepared and thought through. [I have learned] to use the sketchbook to develop ideas. To research other artists. Introduced to various techniques I hadn’t used before. Fully met my expectations.”
