Class Structure
Teaching style
Classes are fun, creative, engaging and designed to empower children to use their creative imaginations, through exploring their own ideas and a wide range of materials + techniques. Children will benefit from lots of 1:1 guidance and support from experienced tutors to help them develop the art skills needed to express themselves as young artists.
We teach fundamental skills in using different materials, drawing, painting, observation, contextual, and creative skills. Each class has been carefully planned with a new project each time to ensure a variety of themes, materials, and techniques are explored over a period of time. Children benefit from teaching by demonstration, through looking at examples and sharing their work with others in a friendly supportive art studio.
Supporting school-based learning
Classes teach children how to improve and develop their existing skills and creativity. Supporting children to develop personal confidence in their creative ideas enables them to build on what they have been taught at school by their teachers.
Learning and development
Helping children develop creative confidence is key – and central to our teaching aims and objectives. Creative confidence supports children in all areas of personal and school life and enables them to have the confidence to ‘give it a go’, develop perseverance and self belief. There is ample opportunity to contribute to group activities, receive lots of positive feedback and praise, share ideas and learn from each other in a supportive group environment.
Children remain interested and engaged throughout the class – continually learning something new. This encourages children’s creative independence and self-confidence and can contribute towards developing a focused attitude, improved wellbeing and sense of accomplishment.
Health + welfare
It is essential that all children are accompanied by a responsible adult, parent or carer who can take responsibility for their health and welfare during the class.
Books, magazines and refreshments are available while they wait.
Individual attention
Children benefit from high-quality teaching and a small group size that guarantees lots of individual support for every child. We take care and due diligence to ensure children receive the best and most positive experience.
Attending classes regularly…
Children will develop skills step by step towards building their knowledge and techniques in Fine Art drawing, painting and mixed media. They will be encouraged to continue their projects at home and use their new skills at school.
